Our team delivers DevOps process tooling for delivery teams while those teams identify and implement best practice and standards throughout the industry and our organization.

• I am responsible for managing a team of software engineers working in the AWS Cloud.
• I provide technical leadership and develop in the AWS Cloud using EC2, SQS, SMS, Lambdas, IAM, RDS, EKS, and S3.

Our team developed, supported, and implemented DevOps process tooling for delivery teams while advising those teams on best practice and standards throughout the industry and our organization. This team was responsible for supporting Octopus Deploy as well as developing custom step templates using PowerShell. In addition, the team was responsible for Team Foundation Server administration and Jenkins development and operation.

• I was responsible for developing and testing solutions, translating customer requirements into technical requirements, collaborating with delivery teams, managing expectations and timelines for delivery of solutions, and presenting team capabilities and industry best practices to delivery teams.
• Extended database deployment pattern allowing capability of multiple deployment technologies to be leveraged based on delivery team’s need. Extension of this pattern allowed us to save 40+ man hours per production release.
• Lead engagement team responsible for collaborating with delivery teams.

Our team developed, supported, implemented, and managed a large, vendor-supplied, multi-tiered, standards-based system that routed, tracked and processed HIPAA transactions and related data. This system was scaled to support hundreds of thousands of batch transactions weekly. This system was considered a tier 1 (business critical) system. In addition, this team was responsible for several proprietary file formats exchanged both internally and with various trading partners.

• Designed and implemented full software development lifecycle (SDLC) physical architecture for the standards-based system while minimizing costs. The implementation required coordination with existing onshore and offshore resources for outages in environments, testing, and support.

Our team developed ETL Solutions to provide high throughput data loads and extracts consumed by both internal and external partners. Several of these file formats were both large in width as well as in size of the file.

• I was the ScrumMaster for a diverse team of data-centric persons and processes. This team consisted of 14 members and encompassed 4 product lines and a dynamic team structure. Scrum process was being developed and incorporated as product delivery continued at a pace that was acceptable to business stakeholders; establishing a successful and comfortable velocity within 10 three week iterations.
• I utilized Microsoft technologies to provide core services. These include SQL Database Engine, SQL Integration Services, and SQL Reporting Services. These versions ranged from SQL Server 2005 to SQL Server 2014 as the architecture evolved.
• I worked with the EDI gateway team to design solutions that leveraged various technologies to support real-time transaction processing in addition to ensuring compliance with corporate, regulatory, contractual, and requirements. I was required to be conversant in EDI, HL7, Medicare and general health care termsand acronyms.

I was responsible for support of personal and professional communication of senior health care providers in Nashville, TN. I worked with the principal client to provide academic research on topics ranging from specific anesthetic or surgical procedures to impact of an individual’s culture on the effectiveness and safety of an organization. In addition, I provided both technical and editorial support for presentations given worldwide regarding various topics ranging from how to build “safe” organizations to how to incorporate new technology into an existing medical organization.

• I led a team of five database development professionals through the adoption of SCRUM as I learned to perform the role of Scrum Master. In addition, I supported and mentored staff, and worked to promote database development best practices. The team went from being a marginalized collection of “order takers” to a group of engaged and committed workers who were able to complete tasks quickly and engage the customer in meeting their needs both previously documented and newly discovered.
• I worked with customers (internal and external) to define requirements for data and systems. I also provided proof of concept implementations as well as development support for reporting, ETL and deployment processes. I worked with internal clients and peers to define database models, both physical and logical, to support web based application and reporting needs. I was also responsible for troubleshooting and managing the existing model and any performance issues with respect to transactional, reporting or ETL loads.
